Lisa Holland has been at the forefront of Marketing & Information for the past 5 years in her role as Youth Services Worker within Youth Services Stirling Council. Her experience and qualifications in Marketing & Digital Art & Design has valuable use for her current role.

Lisa has valuable experience working with young people from 11-25 in various settings, such as one-to one support , group work and inclusion work. In the past year, she has been working with a group of young people who are responsible for updating their local Young Scot Website, which involves various methods of communicating with young people living in the Stirling area. She has supported them with training, which involved digital tools such as video blogging, podcasting etc.

Lisa has made ‘real’ the National Dialogue Youth Agenda (joint development between young people,Young Scot, COSLA, Local Authorities & their community planning partners) in Stirling through the development of Smartened National Entitlement Cards, Stirling Young Scot, Social Networks, & Infotxt (texting service for young people in Stirling).

She has a passion for information technology and believes that it can be used positively with young people in an interactive & engaging way, by using various methods such as video blogging & social networking.

She also has a remit to coordinate Internet Safety within Youth Services, working closing with an Internet Steering Group who is focusing over the next couple of years to develop a strategy, which involves young people, parents/guardian & teachers ensuring that it fits in with Scottish Government Policy for Internet Safety.

Lisa believes that the only way to develop social media is to keep young people at the heart of the process, young people are the key to the development of social media & online tools.

Her future challenge is to broaden her experience of European methods of engaging with young people using digital tools and technology, share her learning and experience and develop long term youth work relationships across Europe.
