Mia Bunge

I am currently completing an MA in the area of Intercultural Communication at the University of the West of England in Bristol. I finished my undergraduate degree in Art and Media as well as in Social Sciences last year in Oldenburg, Germany. My dissertation tackled the political relationship between Art and Society in Germany around 1900.

My expertise is within the areas of Cultural Policy and Media Literacy, where I developed a particular interest in intercultural education. Former research projects have given me an in-depth understanding of identity constructions and the dependence of those on the social environment. I developed a strong interest in Social Online Networks, their social history, their developments and, most of all, their role in communication discourse analysis.

Alongside my academic career, I have taken active roles in youth work, teaching and supervision. Within these roles, I have organised and ran a variety of schedules from, for instance, student-representative committees based in the university, media pedagogical workshops for apprentices, summer-camps for fifteen years old as well as German classes for three-years old.

I am also a musician and artist and very passionate for travelling and sports.
