The MULTIMEDIA project is a Grundtvig Partnership project, funded through the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme. It establishes a partnership of six diverse European organisions to explore the benefits that new digital communications media could bring to the pursuit of lifelong learning.
Europe’s information society offers a staggering choice of accessible online platforms and digital tools that enable and facilitate learning, creation and exchange. Online networks such as facebook and huddle, podcasting tools such as audioboo, and content sharing sites like youtube are all examples of popular, low-cost facilities that can help support learners’ dialogue and discovery. Together, the MULTIMEDIA partners will test these and other accessible communications platforms, exchange best practice and integrate insights gained in the development of future lifelong learning projects.
The MULTIMEDIA partnership will:
- Define the opportunities and challenges of integrating popular digital communications technologies in the delivery of lifelong learning projects
- Test accessible online communications facilities and disseminate insights gained
- Apply insights to the development of current and future lifelong learning projects
- Establish an international network for professional exchange
