Be Active
Bristol University and the 2012 Relays Project have teamed up with Watershed and Bristol CYPS to deliver a programme that engages young people in sport and culture by enabling students to produce their own films.
Two of the films produced during the Be Active programme are available to watch below.
ABLAZE, Bristol CYPS, Watershed have a proven infrastructure for making films with Key Stage 3 students in Bristol Schools. Films in the past 3 years have focused on Personal Social Education but this year the theme will be young people’s opinions about sport and health – being active.
The programme provides learning for a whole year group and an opportunity for students to extend their learning through application to join an enterprise team. The selected student team takes on a challenge to produce a short film. They are allocated a budget and a film maker and present their film for awards at a special event and screening day for the young people and some important invited guests on 10th July 09. A selection of some of the films will also be screened before relevant feature films at Watershed and there’s a possibility they will could also be shown on Bristol’s BBC Big Screen in Millennium Square.
