Black Tonic

Performance

Please note: This event took place in Oct 2015

Interactive theatre meets mini-break as you play detective in the bedrooms & corridors of a real hotel.

Black Tonic offers a glimpse into the lives of the invisible workforce whose erratic shift patterns service our round-the-clock society. You are invited to unravel this original detective story, where even love can be bought for the price of a cocktail from the mini-bar.

Be our guest: check-in at the Hotel reception and journey along corridors and into bedrooms to piece together the clues of this mysterious and visceral thriller.

Written by Clare Duffy and Directed by Katie Day. This production is devised by The Other Way Works creators of playful theatre that immerses audiences within in the story.

Black Tonic is not the only weird and wonderful thing taking place in a hotel this month. Check out The Lobster (Opening Fri 16 Oct), director Yorgos Lanthimos' Cannes Jury Prize-winner, where single people are sent to a hotel where they are forced to find a partner within 45 days - or else be transformed into the animal of their choice! Plus, in tribute, this month in our Checking In... Sunday Brunches we present the unforeseen trials and tribulations of cinema's hotel dwellers for whom checking in will transform them forever.
