The Aardman Panel - Comedy Writing For Animation
Please note: This event took place in Sept 2015
In animation it takes a considerable amount of skill and practice to design characters and environments and perform them well both technically and artistically. It takes a completely different level of talent to write good comedy. Some of the best animation comedy is non-verbal and the gag and humour is relayed through image/performance and sound alone. So how is this done specifically for animation?
Encounters is delighted to welcome a panel of the finest screenwriters and (writing) Directors in the business; Rob Sprackling and Johnny Smith (Gnomeo & Juliet, Mike Bassett: England Manager, Dennis and Gnasher... amongst others), Mark Burton (Chicken Run, Madagascar, Curse of the Were-rabbit, Shaun the Sheep) and Darren Walsh (Angry Kid, the Meerkat and Sony Bravia ads and many more). Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to hear from these first rate professionals and learn about what it takes to be outstanding in their field (wellies not included).
