Drop in between 10:00 - 17:30 in the Café/Bar
Growing up, Matilda is ignored by her parents and bullied by her horrid headmistress, but with her sharp mind, vivid imagination and just a few tricks up her sleeve, she dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.
Join us in the cosy Book Den in the Café/Bar as we read aloud Roald Dahl's magical story Matilda, cover to cover in a day on Fri 12 Aug from 10:00 to 17:30.
Featuring special guest readers, live illustrations by local artists, and BSL interpretation (the whole day will be interpreted), this promises to be a unique celebration of the power of storytelling.
The latest schedule of readers and illustrators - including authors, artists, storytellers and theatre practitioners - is available here.
Please note that this event is FREE and open to all (subject to capacity) and you can dip in for as long or as little as you like on the day. It is most suited to ages 6-12 and their families, but human beans of all ages are also encouraged to attend. There will be a break for lunch and for afternoon teas and coffees.
Catch one of our Matilda Scratch 'N Sniff screenings over the weekend (Sat 13 and Sun 14), in celebration of the film's 20th anniversary!
