Do you want to see more stories on the big screen about the reality of being young and black? Join us for a celebration of emerging black British talent at this showcase of shorts, panel discussion and networking event.
The award-winning shorts are a diverse collection: we screen Shelter, the first short from actor, presenter and DJ Reggie Yates, plus Bristol actress Laya Lewis (who you may recognise from Skins) makes a searing appearance as a mixed-race girl in the Shane Meadows-esque Beverley. After the screening you'll get a chance to hear from inspirational filmmakers and actors, explore how black culture is (or isn't) represented on film and get some top tips on how to find your way in the film industry. With a panel including director Dionne Edwards (We Love Moses), actress Laya Lewis (Beverley, Skins) and director Aisha Sanyang-Meek (Hairitage) hosted by trainer, activist and speaker Mena Fombo.
