Two-time Cannes Palme d'Or winners the Dardennes brothers (Two Days, One Night, The Kid With The Bike) return with another pitch-perfect character study about a doctor seeking to uncover the truth behind the mysterious death of an unidentified caller.
Working late one night, doctor Jenny Davin (Adèle Haenel) ignores a buzz on her clinic's door. The next morning she learns this buzz came from a young African woman in need of help, and she is now dead. Unable to deal with the guilt and with her curiosity piqued, Jenny applies her methodical, diagnostic mind to the case, making it her mission to find out who this woman was and who, or what, was responsible for her death.
A tale of compassion that is typically relevant in today's Europe, the Dardennes' 10th feature is an ethically and psychologically sharp insight into questions of personal and social responsibility.
