We approached the Five Gold Rings theme with three different classes in upper KS2. One Y6 class used the Olympics 2000 idea as a stimulus for internet research, art work inspired by Henry Moore's scultures and circle designs using compasses. The Y5 class explored ring designs using compasses, three dimensional clay sculpture and as a poetry theme. The other Y6 class designed and made large sculptures for an afternoon's exhibition in the school grounds, which was open to visits and comments from the rest of the school. Only a fraction of the work produced has been included in the web site.
