Very engaging and captivating. This video captures minimalism and simplicity in what is in fact a complicated task. Whilst watching I imagined the individual behind the machine would be a very creative and skilful person. With no words and 90 seconds of video, this delivered suspense, curiosity and left an impacting impression!
It is awesome to see how the piece “slowly” takes shape. It feels like that the craftsman can really do anything he wants with the wood, giving it the life he has chosen for it!
It’s wonderful to see how they make theses stuff. This is the first time I saw via this video and looks amazing. Especially camera angles and style is great.
A lovely little film. It makes a generous tribute to the manual skills of a person we do not see – just the magically dexterous hands. Now we all know how ‘a thing’ can be made and how few people could do it themselves. The speed and accuracy of the movements of the hands are mesmerising. This excellent film will stick in the mind for a long time.
Down to earth, non pretentious and simplistic….yet so complex, involved and mesmerizing. I think you have captured the essence of morphogenesis beautifully. Keep up the good work.
It is fascinating to see how a piece of wood can take full life with such a valuable skill! The process is capturing a real piece of art. Well done for this incredible video put together with harmony
I love this whole 90 second thing. It’s made me very reflective about how long I take to do things. What an inspiring piece to watch ..especially as I have just arrived here in Bali where, it seems, they carve just about anything…you have reawakened a deeper appreciation of the ‘feeling’ involved in the process. Well done Chitra.
Breathtaking
Almost poetic in its stoic mechanismus. It es as if he is just uncovering the artpiece from the rest of the wood that just happens to be there. The tight frame helps in concentrating on just the action, the dark zones with the sound overrun both at the beginning and at the end helps accentuating the mental creativity with which a handmade piece is created with mechanical presision where the finishing of each piece leads to the next one being started and all of them millimetrically precise! well done and keep it up chinti!
A beautiful short film that captures the shapability of timber, the skill of the craftsman, the textural quality of space and evocative light quality that churns the viewer within.
Transformation of a simple piece of wood into a piece of art. The film was very engaging and very precisely executed. Loved every moment of it. Will watch it again and again and again. Great Job Chintu 🙂
