Laurence Clark’s fed up being told he’s inspirational! They said it when he got married… probably because people with Cerebral Palsy aren’t expected to have a life!
They said it when he took up stand-up comedy… but to him it’s just another way to make a living. They said it when he became a father… but his role seemed like the easy bit!
To him ‘inspirational’ is a roundabout way to say he’d never amount to much but somehow he’s surpassed expectations!
Therefore in this new show, Inspired, Laurence re-examines his life, determined to prove not every disabled person has to be inspiring. If you’re sceptical when told to climb every mountain, reach for the skies and follow your dreams then this is definitely the show for you!
Laurence is the only stand-up comedian commissioned by Unlimited as part of the London 2012 festival.
Two 90 second films now available on Inspired – the original on from the Push Me Collection and the second, on the Journey so far.
His one man show Inspired, can be seen at the Edinburgh Fringe, DaDaFest in Liverpool and the Bloomsbury Theatre this summer.
