Free Masterclass: How To Turn Instagram Into Insta-Success
Join Instagrammer and runner of the Igers Bristol community, Jessica Siggers as she talks you through how to maximise the potential of your Insta-account.
*This masterclass will follow our usual Rife Hangout. Feel free to come to both.*
WHEN IS IT?: Thursday, 16th April 2014, 6.30pm–8pm (places allocated on first come first served basis)
WHERE IS IT?: Inside the Watershed in the Pervasive Media Studio Events Space. Find your way up through the bar and follow the signs for Pervasive Media Studio, then ring the buzzer.
The talk will start at 6.30pm sharp and there will be plenty of time to ask questions afterwards. If you have any specific questions about your own work then it would be good to prepare those.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?: Our guest speaker, Jessica Siggers (@porthjess on Instagram/head honcho of @igersbristol)
As one of Bristol’s best Instagrammers and runner of the Igers Bristol community, Jessica Siggers (who, we should also remind you, takes quite a beautiful picture too) knows how to use Instagram to build a network, a community and a portfolio. She’ll be talking us through the following:
- Her background/how she got into Instagram and subsequently street photography
- Instagramming basics – winning tactics and no-nos
- Future inspiration within the Instagram community – other IG accounts she finds inspiring and what they best
There will also be an interactive Instagram activity too.
WHO IS THIS FOR?: Photographers, Instagrammers, live-bloggers, social media heads who want to meet a creative excelling in their field, get real-life advice, network with other like-minded souls and get a foot in the door.
WHO IS DOING THE TALK?: After working as an Office Manager in the engineering industry for ten years Jessica Siggers gave up office life six years ago to concentrate on doing something more creative and colourful. After three years as an administrator for the Gurt Lush Choir she is now a full-time freelance photographer on the verge of launching her own ‘alternative’ Bristol range of postcards, an idea that came to her whilst sharing photos on Instagram of her daily adventures capturing colour around Bristol. She also run Bristol’s Instagrammers Network, IGersBristol, hosts ‘instameets’/photo-walks and has recently completed an Instagram photoshoot for Pret-A-Manger.
WHAT NOW?: It’s free , but we’d appreciate it if you emailed us to let us know you’re coming.
