The Link: 22nd May, talking money with poet Malaika Kegode and writer Sian Norris
Rife’s free networking event for young creatives in Bristol, The Link, returns in partnership with Festival of Ideas
The Link is back! This time round we’ll be working with Festival of Ideas to bring you a panel chat with poet and founder of Milk Poetry, Malaika Kegode, and writer and founder of Bristol Women’s Literature Festival Sian Norris, who definitely know a thing or two about the ups and downs of making money as a creative. Illustrator and Rife alumni Cai Burton will chair the conversation, which will span everything from the practical to the aspirational when it comes to funding your life as a freelancer.
There will be time for questions too – here’s a few to get you started: how do you start charging for work? How do you manage your finances? How do you price your work? What else is valuable apart from money when you’re building your career? What opportunities do you say yes and no to? How do you manage anxiety around money?
Join us on 22nd May 2019 from 6pm-8pm in Watershed. It’s free.
The Link is Rife Magazine’s free networking event for Bristol’s young, creative, under 24s to meet, be creative, collaborate and meet professionals. There will be refreshments. There will be lots of creatives to mingle with. And there will be industry connections to meet.
Whether you’re a writer, blogger, photographer, filmmaker, artist, illustrator or just interested in lots of different things, The Link is a fun, friendly and informal chance to chat about the stuff you love – come along!
Get your name on the guest list by RSVPing here. Big thanks to Festival of Ideas who have helped us make this happen. See you there.
