BAFTA Masterclass: Lol Crawley
This strand brings together the brightest creative behind-the-scenes talent to audiences throughout the UK, the BAFTA Craft Masterclasses invite BAFTA winners and nominees to share their craft and deliver an on-stage session about their creative processes.
BAFTA-nominee Lol Crawley is an award-winning cinematographer whose first feature credit on Ballast won him an Excellence in Cinematography award at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. From working on BAFTA-nominated short films and shooting with first time feature directors Duane Hopkins (Better Things) and Chris Morris (Four Lions), to working on sumptuous big budget BBC television costume drama, the BAFTA-nominated Crimson Petal and the White, Lol has a distinctive style which spans genre and budget. He joined BAFTA at Encounters having just wrapped director Roger Michell’s (Notting Hill) latest feature, Hyde Park on Hudson, starring Bill Murray and Laura Linney.
In this event recording, Lol Crawley speaks to BAFTA programmer Mariah Kaderbhai about his diverse career working with directors across features, shorts and television drama.
This event formed part of BAFTA’s UK-wide learning and events programme, giving audiences across the country access behind the screens of the film, TV and video games industries.
