NFTS Creative Producing Masterclass
Chris Auty, Head of Producing at NFTS (National Film and Television School) has several decades of top level experience across a vast spectrum of film industry roles from distribution to the development of cinema buildings. He has produced countless successful films including Stealing Beauty, Crash and My Summer of Love. He now runs two courses at NFTS, sharing his knowledge of and connection with the industry to support new talent.
The future of the creative industries in the digital age is being shaped by entrepreneurs who can build new business models across different media platforms. This is true whether they are working on their own, starting new businesses, or working within traditional media companies.
In this masterclass Auty outlines what it means to be a producer now, and how this has changed drastically in recent years. He advises the next generation of aspiring producers on how to navigate the creative industries using an entreprenurial sense to take risks in supporting the next generation of filmmaking talent.
This event took place as part of Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival 2013, in association with NFTS.
