The screening of a film is at the heart of our creative engagement: from cinema events through to UK wide touring and talent development we want to engage audiences with global stories which transport, transform and entertain. We not only support an adventurous approach to connecting film and audiences in our own venue, we support film culture across the region. Watershed is the lead organisation for the BFI Film Audience Network in the South West.

Our support for filmmakers in Bristol includes commissions, development support, networking and promotion. In Our Hands, produced by Rife Magazine in partnership with Watershed asked an inspiring group of girls, young women and people that identify as female what equality means to them and how we might achieve it. Featuring a beautiful poem by Malaika Kegode, the film reflects the diverse experiences of young people and what they are still fighting for.
