Break Into Film: Find Your Route into the Screen Industries in the South West

23 Sep 2021

The Film & TV industry is a complicated place; it’s difficult to know where to start, especially when you live outside of London or see few people like yourself in those dream job roles.

1hr

In this the first of our South West LABS sessions we explored the routes into the Film & TV industry, with a focus on opportunities in the South West and Bristol that are up for grabs right now. We were joined by a brilliant panel of South West based industry professionals who are striving to make the sector more transparent, inclusive and to remove the barriers to entry for those starting out in their career.

If you’re based in the South West, aged 16 – 25 and are considering a career in the Film & TV Industry then this panel is a great starting point to find out more about the early career job roles, traineeships, apprenticeships, mentoring and other opportunities available locally.

Our panellists were:

Stacey Olika – Creative Diversity Coordinator, Channel 4

Natalie Moore – Senior Film Officer, Bristol UNESCO City of Film/ Bristol Film Office

Mel Rodrigues – Founder & Creative Director, Gritty Talent

Hosted by Miky King Assistant Producer, Five Miles Films
