The Fence is the first feature-length independent film to be produced in Bristol since 1962 (but it won’t be the last!) and tells the story of Steve Knight who has his brand new motorbike stolen in Hartcliffe and goes on an action-packed adventure to get it back. The film examines cultural and peer pressures and often difficult individual choices but at its heart, it’s a fun film that combines nostalgia with strong characters, comedy and a fast paced narrative.
The film, based off a story director Will Stone heard from his dad, is packed with gloriously 80’s action from the costumes to the soundtrack and it’s all set in Hartcliffe. The ties to Bristol don’t end there as The Fence is a celebration of the city’s people and filmmaking talent, from the director through to some of the city’s most famous faces.
We’re giving you the chance to win 2 free tickets to the screening at Watershed on the 8th November at 6pm which will also be followed by a Q&A with the director Will Stone. The short version of the film has had over 4 million views online and this feature-length version has already been long listed for a British Independent Film Award so you won’t want to miss it!
