27 Oct 2023

This second BFI Film Academy Lab of the 2023/24 season will give you a range of perspectives on the benefits, challenges and experience of being a freelancer in the screen industries and/or running a production company.

Our panel of filmmakers discuss when is the right time to take these steps in your career, finding and working with clients, the rules and practices you’ll need to know, and managing budgets, billing and schedules.

This session is hosted by Danielle Fahiya, an actor, writer and presenter, and the panel also includes freelance animator Dani Abram, Toby Cameron of On Par Productions and Daniel J. Harris of Focus Shift Films and EatSleep Media. This Business of Film Lab is delivered by Chapter in Wales – @ChapterNoise.
