Do you have a passion for watching and discussing films with other people? 

Are you interested in learning how to co-host a group conversation? 

Do you love social media and would like to know more about creating content to promote new films? 

We are looking for three people aged 18-25 to work together as Film Club hosts at Watershed, as part of BFI Film Academy for 16-25 year olds. Watershed & BFI Film Academy south west will give you training in programming, marketing and content curation around new film releases, hosting and facilitating, as well as some special previews of upcoming films.

Please note this is a training opportunity and not a paid role.

What does the role involve?

  • Attending preview screenings of films every Friday morning at Watershed in March & April 
  • Selecting a ‘film of the month’ and creating comms on our social media platforms to encourage people to come 
  • Planning and hosting a post-screening engaging and fun discussion group session for 16-25 year olds (weekday evening)  
  • This role involves working as a team (3 people), you will be supported by our staff but you also do need to be reliable and able to work independently.

How much time do I need to give? 

  • Fridays in March-April (11am-1:30pm on average) 
  • Two meetings and development sessions at Watershed (1-2 hours, weekday afternoon time to suit you) 
  • 2 evening screenings and post-screening discussion sessions (March & April, weekday evenings tbc)
