Film Academy at Encounters 2021

Encounters is the UK’s largest short film, animation and VR festival and this year, the programme is all online making it even more accessible than ever! To highlight some of the best young filmmakers included in the Festival, our Young Programmers sat down with three of the filmmakers whose work has been selected in the festival’s UK Student Award programmes for a Q&A.

You can watch all the films discussed below online as part of the Encounters programme until 30th September, as well as all of the other great shorts in the programme. Grab a festival pass now for just £10 or check out our Exposure scheme for other ways to get involved with the Festival!

Whether you’re looking for some advice about how to make your own short, want to work out where to start with the festival programme or just want to be inspired by some great work, go and give the clips a watch!
