Join us and Bristol Black Horror Club’s Adam Murray for a special screening of Voodoo In My Heart (UK 2020, 5mins) directed by Bristol-based filmmaker Elias Williams (Mandem). Voodoo in My Heart tells the story of a young woman’s last moments in human form before turning into a zombie.

The screening will then be followed by a conversation exploring ‘Horror Noire’, the Zombie and its Haitian roots with Elias. We’ll also discuss how horror as a genre can elevate and sharpen the production process, skillset, and career paths for young Black and Brown filmmakers in the UK.
This event is part of Cables & Cameras‘ INSPIRED takeover of Watershed’s online and in-person programme, running from 25-27 September 2021. The weekend will be exploring Black and PoC culture on screen and looking at ways to open the industry up to more Black and PoC filmmakers and professionals.
