Action Xtreme are the UK’s first major action studio, and they want to hear your ideas! The Action Xtreme team will be coming to Watershed as part of our Inside Film event on Saturday 18th March.
Action Xtreme want to support and develop the next generation of British action filmmaking talent so they are offering you the chance to pitch your action film ideas to them.
Action Xtreme will offer live feedback to selected filmmakers aged 25 and under at the event and will be looking to further support any outstanding talent with mentoring and other opportunities to help develop their action filmmaking careers.
To apply send us an original proposal for your film and outline elements of it including:
- Character(s) – Who is your film about?
- Story – What happens? Can you tell us the beginning, middle and end?
- Theme – What is your film about and why is this interesting?
- Stylistic Approach – What will your film look like?
- Location/Setting – Where does it happen?
- Format – is this a feature/short/TV show or something else (i.e webseries)?
You can present the points above in written form (max. 400 words) or as a video (max. 3 minutes).
- A bit about yourself and your work. This doesn’t need to be long! You can send a link to a showreel, links to past work, images, or anything else that will give us a sense of the kind of work you’ve made. Don’t worry too much about how much experience you have.
Top Tips from Action Xtreme:
- We are looking for original Action Films. Please do not try to reformat an existing film idea you have into an action genre.
- Please consider a realistic (micro to low budget) for your project. We are not Marvel! But we are looking to support ambitious projects that we can develop that are not high cost/high risk.
We will then get in touch to let you know if you’ve been selected to pitch your idea to some of the team on the 18thMarch. To apply please send your proposal and information to film.academy@watershed.co.uk with ‘Action Xtreme at Inside Film Pitch’ in the subject line by 5pm Monday 13th March.
