Apply to Queer Storytelling Workshop 2

    Online

We’re pleased to announce the second iteration of our Queer Storytelling Workshop, for writers who identify as LGBTQIA+, led by award-winning filmmaker and writer Jason Barker. We’re looking for writers who are keen to find new ways of exploring queer themes in their writing, have an interest in film and an ambition to write for the screen (although we don’t expect you to have extensive screenwriting experience).

There will be four online evening sessions starting in Tue 28 Oct 18:00 – 19:30 (rest of the dates TBC). These sessions will offer a practical and positive space to generate ideas, build confidence and inspire. We don’t expect participants to finish the workshops with a polished product, but we’ll be working towards a short film outline, logline and a sample of dialogue.

Those who applied to the first iteration of the programme and were unsuccessful are welcome to apply again.

Applications close on Thu 12 Sept at 17:00.

‘The Queer Storytelling Workshop offered a valuable insight into the film industry as well as a good starting point for moving into screenwriting. It was also lovely to meet other people from the queer community that are interested in creative writing’ Bridget Hart (they/them) Past Participant
