Whether you’re new to film exhibition, or you’re an established film venue or festival, we want to hear what’s working, what’s not working and explore your ideas for the future of the hub and wider BFI Film Audience Network so that we can be as responsive as possible to your needs and the opportunities ahead. There’ll be plenty of time for discussion and a chance to network with other members and with the Film Hub team.

SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY

We will start the day at 10.30am with a preview screening of “sweet, funny and heartfelt” debut feature film The Peanut Butter Falcon, which will be released in cinemas on 18th October. This title is the next title to receive New Release Support, and if booking it you can expect receive additional marketing and event support. The tittle will also be supported by resources from Inclusive Cinema and is eligible for bonus points for Cinema Incentive Scheme venues.

In the afternoon, we will share some of the projects we have supported over the past 18 months and look at how we might develop our offer to support members further in 2019-2020.

There will also be an opportunity to workshop ideas for Shifting Ground, a nationwide funding programme dedicated to uncovering the many voices, hidden histories and forgotten stories that make up our collective past.

The engagement fund, led by Film Hub North, offers grants up to £15,000 to support collaborations between exhibitors and archives, that respond to one of the most important debates facing society today: people’s changing relationship with their environment. With one-month to go til the deadline on the 11th October, we will discuss and generate ideas and look at the application.
