Members Advisory Forum 2022

    Members Advisory Forum 2022

    Watershed

We want to take a moment to reflect on what has been achieved in the South West in the context of the outgoing BFI 2022 strategy, hear what is and isn’t working for your organisation, and explore your ideas for the future.

  • Register at the bottom of this page to join us at Watershed, Bristol on Tue 27 Sep 2022 11 am – 4 pm. The deadline for registration is Tue 20 Sep.
  • Take a moment to complete our Annual Advisory Feedback form, as this will help shape the event and inform our future offering. We ask all members to share feedback, especially those who cannot attend in person.

We offer a bursary for travel, should this be required. Please contact the Hub directly to enquire about the bursary scheme.

  • Following our Members Advisory Forum, members in attendance are invited to stay for drinks in Watershed bar and join us in attendance of screenings of Encounters Film Festival regional shorts programme (South West Showcase 1, South West Showcase 2 £3 each).

What is the Members Advisory Forum?

This forum is a space for Film Hub South West members (organisations and associated freelancers) to come together to share experiences, openly evaluate and reshape the support currently in place for exhibitors to ensure that it is fit for purpose.

It is a chance for members to connect with each other and let us know what you need whether it be accessing funding or training, workshops and support, and any other resources.

Why do we hold a Members Advisory Forum?

We understand that there are specific local opportunities and challenges that we need to grasp to support your work effectively.

In order to stay responsive to your needs, the Members Advisory Forum is key. This is particularly significant this year as the BFI2022 strategy is coming to an end, as discussions at the forum will feed into responding to the BFI’s new 10-year plan for 2023-2033.

What happens at the Members Advisory Forum?

The session will be an open, non-judgemental environment, reflecting on the achievements and challenges over the past financial year.

The session will be broken down into sections with a mix of interactive elements and presentations, with regular breaks, including morning coffee, and vegan lunch.

Come along and voice your opinions in an open and forward-thinking environment. We will listen and discuss one another’s experiences, in order to strategize the future of the exhibition sector in our region.

Here are some of the topics we will explore; please use the sign up form below to suggest others ahead of the meeting:

  • Areas to capitalise and expand upon from the BFI 2022 strategy
  • Any difficulties that are affecting your organisation/ your ability to engage with BFI support and your ideas around future support
  • Region-specific strengths, weaknesses and opportunities

We are looking forward to also spending time celebrating the successes of the past 12 months. If you have something to shout about that your organisation has put on, let us know via email, and we can make time in the programme for you to share key learnings and successes.

Register to join us on Tuesday 27 September 2022, at Watershed, Bristol.

If there is anything you would like us to discuss or share, please get in touch with us on Basecamp. (Not on Basecamp? Email filmhub@watershed.co.uk to join).
