Encounters – Touring Programme

Encounters is a new monthly cinema programme presenting curated selections of UK and international short films from the Encounters Film Festival archive. Themed and released quarterly in groups of three, each month’s programme is accompanied by an introduction from creatives, filmmakers or artists linked to the selection.

July’s line-up is a showcase of emerging female filmmakers, each telling stories of young women on screen. It features an introduction from actor and producer Maisie Williams and the Frank Film Club podcast team

Encounters not only presents amazing stories from talented creators, but is also intended to be a catalyst for reigniting networking opportunities in cinemas for filmmakers, audiences and emerging talent as restrictions lift, cinemas reopen, and audience confidence returns.

The quarterly release structure of Encounters allows exhibitors to programme these events farther in advance and the circa hour-long runtime gives more flexibility to support the addition of networking events, introductions or Q&As.

Encounters programmes are available on accessible terms of £20MG / 25% to encourage accessible event admission fees.
