Book a 1:1 Meeting with our Talent Executives

Are you looking to connect with BFI NETWORK South West? One-to-one meetings are 15-minute sessions for South West-based filmmakers and creatives who are interested in the opportunities, funding, training, and networking on offer with BFI NETWORK South West.

A still from the film Knot

Our south west Talent Executives are interested in meeting regional talent. The 1:1 format is ideal for people who have specific questions about our offer that are not included in the BFI NETWORK funding guidelines or on our FAQs (‘Frequently Asked Questions’) page.

In order to divide our time fairly and meet as many of you as possible, these 1:1 meetings are for those who haven’t yet connected with the BFI NETWORK South West team and would like to introduce themselves, and ask any questions they might have around the Short Film and Early Development Funds.

What can I discuss in a 1:1?

As we’re such a small team the Talent Executives don’t have the capacity to read scripts, treatments or pitch docs and offer script development advice. These meetings are a way for the team to get to know talent in our region – they are not intended to be a careers advice or mentoring session. What the Talent Execs can help with is:

  • General info on what funds we distribute on behalf of BFI NETWORK
  • Activity we have planned over the coming year
  • General resources you could use to find collaborators (please note that we don’t offer direct introductions or ‘matchmaking’ between talent – see above)
  • General advice on what makes a good script or funding application (if you would like some tips on what makes a great application please see this blog article and this blog post on the Early Development Fund).

All 1:1 meetings are kept strictly to 15 minutes and can be hosted either via Zoom (video call, with live captioning if needed) or via phone.

If you have any additional access requirements please inform us of this at the point of sign up.

PLEASE NOTE: If there no slots available keep an eye on our social media and newsletter for updates.
