At 99p Films, the team bring people together through the power of documentary cinema, creating awareness around social and environmental stories that engage, inspire and connect our communities.
They do this using their signature ‘Social Cinema’ formula of: Breathe, Watch, Discuss, Eat – incorporating mindful breathing at the start, audience-led discussions and a communal feast where people eat part of the solution.
99p Films have got so many unique and innovative elements of how they operate from the fact their tickets start at 99p, allowing all those in the community to attend by removing the financial barrier and dissolving the echo chambers people usually find ourselves in.
The other reason for their name is the unique licensing model which is that 99p from every ticket sold goes directly to the filmmaker, creating transparency and democratising the film industry.
As a C.I.C., 99p Films also benefit a number of other stakeholders from the regenerative local farmers who grow the food for their feasts, the international chefs who cook them, wellness practitioners and their team of creatives.
They’ve hosted over 40 events across the South West, primarily in Cornwall around the Falmouth area, with over 3000 attendees with the goal to take their winning formula across the UK.
Their demand and impact is growing and they are looking for any support Film Hub South West members can offer!
