Strode Theatre

Strode Theatre promotes a mixed programme of live professional and amateur events on stage (‘Live on Stage’), mainstream and arthouse films as well as live and recorded transmissions of opera, ballet and theatre (‘Live on Screen’). The foyer is home to changing exhibitions of work by local and regional artists.

Opened in 1963, funded by the Clarks Foundation, Strode Theatre has been an essential part of the community for more than five decades. The Theatre offers a warm and welcoming environment for all its visitors, performers and artists. At the heart of the community, it provides spaces for meeting, rehearsing, performing and exhibiting. Opening an hour before a performance the bar gives a friendly place to meet beforehand and a relaxed atmosphere to chat afterwards.
