We’re seeking writers with inspired creative approaches and new perspectives – writers with work that’s surprising, revelatory or challenging. It’s free to submit your script, and selected scripts will be performed by a professional cast during Encounters Festival 2018.
After assessment by an industry panel, selected scripts will be performed by a professional cast at Encounters Film Festival 2018. The chosen writers will be invited to the festival, with access to the full festival programme on the day of the event. They’ll also receive the opportunity to meet and discuss their work with the regional BFI NETWORK Talent Executive, Alice Cabanas and Bristol based scriptwriter and dramaturge, Sharon Clark.
Bursaries for travel costs, childcare and access support are available too.
Up to 10 pages of a bold and original short or feature film script.
This call is open to all, and we encourage submissions from writers who may be working in other disciplines who are interested in writing for film.
This is an inclusive event and we particularly encourage applications from participants who identify with the BFI Diversity standards under-represented groups.
Please email your scripts to firstname.lastname@example.org with LIVE SCRIPT READ as the email subject header.
Submissions open August 1
