BFI2022 Reflections celebrates four years of film showing and making in the South West – read the report in full

Over the last four years, Film Hub South West has been a driving force behind film culture in the region, supporting exhibitors and nurturing filmmaking talent with regional partners and the support from BFI awarding funds from National Lottery.

As BFI 2022 ends, the BFI Screen Culture 2033 strategy begins in April, we reflect on the impact of our programmes on audiences, talent, and the wider film sector over the period.

Led by internationally renowned cultural cinema Watershed in Bristol, a UNESCO City of Film, Film Hub South West is part of the UK wide BFI Film Audience Network (BFI FAN) and is home to BFI NETWORK and BFI Film Academy South West; playing a key role in nurturing the region’s leading organisations and newest wave of filmmaking talent.

The BFI Reflections document looks at the impact Film Hub South West has had on regional audiences and talent, the film exhibition sector and the wider film sector from April 2018 – March 2022.
