Collaborate with writers directors and producers

BFI NETWORK South West’s new Projects Folder makes it easier for filmmakers in the region to make connections and collaborate.

We understand the difficulty of making connections and forming collaborations with directors, writers and producers in the region.

There is such a diverse aray of talent out there, of creatives brimming with original story ideas and those with the vision to turn these stories into engaging and excititng content. But how do you find each other?!

Are you either a writer or director looking to work with a producer? Fill in this form and submit your project into the folder,  or if you’re a producer sign up here to receive the submitted projects.

Writers/ Directors – you can submit a one page pdf of a short, feature, fiction, non-fiction, live action or animation project. However, please note that in order to apply for the BFI NETWORK Short Film Funding, your project must be a short fiction film (live action or animation). You can read the funding guidelines here.

How does it work?

Writers/ Directors submitting a project…

When you email us your one page pdf of your project we save it in a folder along with the other submitted projects. Your project is saved by title of project, your name and email address. The folder of submitted projects will be shared with a mailing list of producers. We will store the projects for 3 months at which point they will be deleted. If you would like to re-submit your project please get back in touch in 3 months time. Each story idea is the intellectual property of the director / writer, however the projects will be shared and we cannot be responsible for any infringement of IP. If you would like to have your project removed from the folder please email us and let us know – bfinetwork@watershed.co.uk

Producers receiving the projects…

Once signed up to the list here, you will be sent a link within 3 days to access the folder of projects submitted to BFI NETWORK South West. New projects will be added to the folder as and when we receive them. Please contact the director / writer directly from the email address saved in the document title.

Who will see your work?

Please note, projects submitted for this purpose will not be read by BFI NETWORK and will only be shared with producers who have signed up to our mailing list. If you would like a screenplay or a short film to be seen by a BFI Talent Executive, please upload it to the Post Room here.
