Live Script Reading – Selected Projects

We (BFI NETWORK , Film Hub South West and Encounters Festival) are on the look out for new writing talent in the South West – in particular writers with work that’s surprising, revelatory or challenging. Earlier this summer we put a call out for South West writers with bold, exciting new ideas to submit their scripts for assessment by an industry panel.

Selected scripts will be performed by a professional cast at Encounters Film Festival 2018 and the chosen writers will have the opportunity to meet and discuss their work with the regional BFI NETWORK Talent Executive, Alice Cabanas and Bristol based scriptwriter and dramaturge, Sharon Clark.

More than 50 scripts were submitted, and shortlisted down to the following 7 projects:

Atomise, Alex Falconer

Escape, John Sealey

Meadow Park, Sharon Clark

Out of Sight, Jesse Lawrence

Somewhere Out There, Rachel Tillotson

Shiney Pete, Paul Holbrook & Graeme Willetts

Undertow, Lotus Hannon
