With support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Film Hub Member and Cornwall’s Community Cinema network, C-Fylm commissioned a short documentary film for the Armistice Day Centenary made with and starring young people from across Cornwall. The film is 20 minutes long and with support from Film Hub South West is being screened in 32 communities across Cornwall as part of a First World War season in November and over the winter.
Cornish Tommies tells the true story of a young Cornish miner who was called up to serve in the trenches in the last year of World War One. With help from archivists, curators, experts and student volunteers, Cornish Tommies presents the true story of a Cornish mining family caught up in the war.
Check out the trailer online here and find out when the next screening is taking place.
