{"id":9449,"date":"2024-03-12T12:39:10","date_gmt":"2024-03-12T12:39:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/watershed.co.uk\/filmhub\/?page_id=9449"},"modified":"2025-09-11T13:33:48","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T12:33:48","slug":"intro-to-immersive-webinar","status":"publish","type":"guides_resources","link":"https:\/\/watershed.co.uk\/filmhub\/guides_resources\/intro-to-immersive-webinar\/","title":{"rendered":"Intro to Immersive webinar"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>Are you a south west-based writer, director or producer with an idea for an immersive\/VR project, or are simply interested in immersive production?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>BFI NETWORK\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bfi.org.uk\/get-funding-support\/bfi-network\/bfi-network-england-short-film-funding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Short Film Fund<\/a> is re-opening in March and it supports live-action, animation and immersive projects. In anticipation of this, we hosted a free online session tailored specifically towards those interested in developing immersive or VR-based short works of up to 15-minutes in length.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>We were joined by director Amy Rose who shared some of her work and offered valuable insights into immersive storytelling and planning for production (eg budgeting, scheduling etc).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>BFI NETWORK South West were also joined our partners at <a href=\"https:\/\/bfi.docsociety.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BFI Doc Society<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>About <\/strong><strong>Amy Rose<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Amy Rose is an acclaimed director and maker, known for creating sensory stories that experiment with new technologies. In her work she seeks innovative methods for creating connection with audiences \u2013 playing with the body as much as speaking to the mind. In 2013, together with May Abdalla she co-founded <a href=\"http:\/\/weareanagram.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Anagram<\/a>, to explore the use of emerging immersive technologies and audience participation in non-fiction storytelling.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Their work spans many forms, ranging from a blindfolded experience about being lost that took place in a 6000sq ft sensory set (Door Into The Dark, winner of Tribeca Film Festival Storyscapes Award 2015), to a VR piece about power and control for two people at a time (The Collider, winner of 2019 Sandbox Immersive Art Award), to numerous interactive audio pieces for museums and public space.
