When you apply you do so through the\u202fBFI NETWORK website. At this point, all applications go to independent readers for assessment before reaching their allocated region. Applications are split based on the postcode of the writer, and will by assessed by the BFI NETWORK Talent Executives in that region.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<header class=\"question questionClicker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>How many co-writers can a project have?\u202f  <i class=\"ri-arrow-down-s-line\"><\/i><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>It would be very unusual to see more than two\u202fwriters on\u202fa projected supported by the EDF. The writers would need to decide who the <em>lead<\/em> writer\u202fis.\u202fThe lead writer is the lead applicant \u2013 the one who will submit\u202fthe application, sign the funding agreement and receive the award payment.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<header class=\"question questionClicker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>If the project has co-writers in different locations\u202fis it up to the writers to decide which region to apply to for funding?\u202f\u202f <i class=\"ri-arrow-down-s-line\"><\/i><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Yes, the decision of where to apply is left to the writers: it\u2019s based on the location of the <em>lead<\/em> writer (see note above). They may also consider applying to a region that best resonates with their project. Co-writers and producers (if attached) can be based anywhere in the UK.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<header class=\"question questionClicker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>What type of projects do you fund? <i class=\"ri-arrow-down-s-line\"><\/i><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The EDF supports scripted, fiction projects only \u2013 not documentary, biographies, TV or artists\u2019 moving image work. We welcome live action, animation or immersive projects in any genre. See <a href=\"https:\/\/watershed.co.uk\/filmhub\/films_category\/films_category\/early-development-funded-projects-2018-to-2022\/\">here<\/a> for the type of projects we\u2019ve supported in the past.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<header class=\"question questionClicker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Can I apply multiple times the same round?   <i class=\"ri-arrow-down-s-line\"><\/i><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>No, you can only apply once, with one idea per funding round.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<header class=\"question questionClicker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Can I re-submit an idea?\u2028 <i class=\"ri-arrow-down-s-line\"><\/i><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>We only allow a resubmission if we (the Talent Executives in your region) have directly recommended that you develop the application further, prior to resubmitting, or where you formally withdrew your application before we took a funding decision.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<header class=\"question questionClicker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Can I see treatments and pitch decks created by previous awardees?  <i class=\"ri-arrow-down-s-line\"><\/i><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Unfortunately not. If writers are now looking to attach producers and\/or financiers these documents will be subject to negotiations over intellectual property and rights ownership.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<header class=\"question questionClicker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>What do you mean by a writer having a \u2018strong creative track record\u2019?  <i class=\"ri-arrow-down-s-line\"><\/i><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>For the EDF we expect to receive applications from writers who have some traction within the film\/TV\/creative industries and are at the right stage in their career to embark on writing a feature. You should be able to demonstrate your track record in the application and would probably want to include mention of any published work, plays, short films, novels, audio dramas\/radio plays, writing for video games or similar.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<header class=\"question questionClicker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>What do I need to deliver for the EDF?\u2028  <i class=\"ri-arrow-down-s-line\"><\/i><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>All successful applicants must submit:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A treatment of 7 to 10\u202fpages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A final cost report for all\u202fexpenditure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You may also choose to submit visual materials such as a mood board or pitch\u202fdeck.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<header class=\"question questionClicker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>How much contact do you get with a BFI NETWORK Talent Executive if your project is funded?  <i class=\"ri-arrow-down-s-line\"><\/i><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>You\u2019ll meet with the Talent Executive periodically over the duration of your development process and they will give feedback on the treatment document and any visual\/pitch-deck materials you choose to create. They will also sign off on the final project when you deliver it.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<header class=\"question questionClicker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>Can the EDF help with the production of my feature film?  <i class=\"ri-arrow-down-s-line\"><\/i><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>No, the EDF is not a production fund. You can read more about all of BFI\u2019s funds\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bfi.org.uk\/get-funding-support\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<header class=\"question questionClicker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>What is the EDF \u2018Stage 2\u2019 funding? <i class=\"ri-arrow-down-s-line\"><\/i><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Writers we support at treatment stage who deliver their project to schedule (within three months of signing the funding agreement or by the agreed stage 2 application deadline) can then go on to apply for an additional award of between \u00a38,000 to \u00a312,500 to help them develop a first draft of the feature-length screenplay. Please note that in our region we support an average of four EDF projects per year, and would expect to take just one of those through to stage 2 funding.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t    \t\t<article class=\"questionWrapper\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<header class=\"question questionClicker\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h3>What happens with the rights to the idea? <i class=\"ri-arrow-down-s-line\"><\/i><\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/header>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The lead writer retains the rights to the work. The writer still retains the copyright if the project is selected for \u2018stage 2\u2019 (first-draft funding). Where a producer is working with the writer on a project that is granted a stage 2 EDF award the duo can enter into a more formal agreement amongst themselves regarding rights.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/article>\n    \t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"spaceBlock faq style01 paddingAll\">\n\t<div
