What do we need from the FP’s to move this forward…?

- No more than £20 Immersive event, were not sure our audience will pay more than this for an event.

- Normal Tickets for immersive event £18/18.50?

- Workshop £8-10 (not sure how long the workshop will be)

- Late night screenings £8-10

We thought we might want to just entice our customers in, so standard ticket price for a film but the added bonus of Music? Also the cube offers something similar for just £5.

(The late night ticket pricing will hinge on whether we’re including a free/discounted drink also, so I’d imagine it will be at least £10, considering we’ll also have music.)

- Ticket Tiers - Normal £18.50

Student £16.50  - £16.00 (Flo)

                Early Bird £15.00

- Buy a ticket for the Immersive event and get a late night screening half price or - buy a ticket for the screening and get a discount on immersive event?

- maybe an early bird package deals to get all three late night screenings for £25 (if each ticket will cost £10) and maybe throw in the immersive event for £36?

- Speciality cocktails or themed drinks £6.50 or B.O.G.O.F / a £5 cocktail offer with ticket

- Bottle House white or red £10.00 (not sure what normal price is?)

- Any 3 bottled beers/ ciders £10.00

- Maybe some voucher type card when arriving which allocated you those drinks (could be a certain number) which are then struck off by the bartender to show the person’s had a certain number. Could be a way of regulating the discount

For Hausu, we could have a deal on Sake, Shochu or Awamori

For The Shining, we could have a deal on Bourbon On The Rocks, and on top of that, we could have Advocaat and REDRUM cocktails being sold at the bar.  In terms of potential food served at the immersive event, we could have more daring takes on Danny’s favourites: French Fries & Ketchup, and Chocolate Ice Cream

- Happy Hour 9pm-10pm 50p-£1 off all drinks, only for ticket holders for the late night screening

- maybe something after the movie too? people might not want to drink too much before a film then they can stay and chat about the movie

Double meanings / psychological elements indicated by a anatomical brain, mind, head / House and space imagery, key, corridors, windows, doors /

Not something too specific to the Shining though, but maybe hints?

How about going to Kubrick’s influences for the film?  There was a photo from Diane Arbus that inspired the Grady twins. (shown Below)

(Just using this image to help illustrate the idea - a good illustration of Danny’s friend ‘Tony’, possibly with a “REDRUM” / “MEET TONY” caption)

Good typography ideas here, for the name of the season:

Think we are all willing to help distribute to some degree?

- We could contact UWE. Bower Ashton has a freshers fayre pretty soon that would be a great place to put them and in the library and Spike Island.

- Don't Panic packs, 1000 flyers £40, thats just distribution not printing

- Hamilton House / Parlour Showrooms / Arnolfini / The Birdcage / Start The Bus / Spike Island / the Grounded chain

- Arts cafes in Stokes Croft and bedminster, Comic shops, 21st Century Flicks, Cube, Bristol Silents events, Bristol Filmmakers Networking events, Shooters In The Pub networking events or any possible place where people are interested in film

POTENTIAL SEASON NAMES

‘The Corridor Sessions’ - the word 'CORRIDOR' - it's connotations with the Gothic and haunted houses are obvious, but it also suggests the concept of searching, or being lost or trapped, mislead and confused - in italian it comes from the word 'correre' which means 'to run'

‘Night Terrors’ - Jack has night terrors in The Shining, when he dreams he kills Danny and Wendy.  And with the late night screenings, night terrors is a good way to describe the nightmarish quality of the films - and how they will affect the audience’s ability to get to sleep, and subsequently give them nightmares.  Simple, effective and has many valid interpretations.

‘Unhinged’ - Connotations to the psychological state of the protagonists within the Gothic genre as well as the state of the settings themselves; dilapidated, disintegrating urban/man-made environments. Not to mention the classic ‘creaky-door’ effect so infamous within Gothic.

THE FILMS

Although we can’t publish what films we are showing yet as we haven’t got them all signed off this is the plan:

- Hausu

- One of Polanski’s Apartment Trilogy: Probably the New York-set Rosemarys Baby (but maybe the Paris-set The Tenant or the London-set Repulsion [which could also count as a British film on the slate])

- Eraserhead [Kubrick was heavily inspired by this film for The Shining. He made his cast and crew watch the film multiple times to get them into the right mindset.  Both films also touch upon the theme of fatherhood]

- Obviously The Shining.

Also...

In any of Polanski's Apartment Trilogy, we have an apartment.

In Hausu, we have a house.

In The Shining, we have a hotel.

In Eraserhead, we have a city [where the film was inspired by Lynch’s feelings for Philadelphia].

So we quite like this line:         An apartment, a house, a hotel and a city.
