Artist-led workshop: What sounds remind you of other people?
Join artist Jen Southern for a free workshop exploring sound, objects and mobile technology.
When: 18:00-19:30, Tuesday 20th September
Where: Pervasive Media Studio (how to find us)
What sounds remind you of other people? It might be the way someone whistles as they walk, the pages of a book turning, the click of knitting needles, the tap of high heels or the shuffle of slippers. Do the sounds of DIY or cooking let you know where someone else is in the house, or does their favourite music or the sound of their car remind you of them?
This workshop with Watershed's resident artist Jen Southern is open to all, and will explore how we associate sounds and objects with other people. Participants are invited to bring along objects, create a range of sounds using the objects and make mobile ringtones that relate to particular people.
Please bring an object or sound that reminds you of a person you’re close to, but spend time away from. The person might be a close friend in another city, a brother on the other side of Bristol, a daughter you only see at weekends, or a partner who travels a lot for work.
