Building work on our long-awaited refurbished toilets is under way, our outdoor bar Undershed has been bathed in sunshine, and we’re looking forward to an August full of family season Studio Ghibli Summer, a celebration of 60 years of independence for Jamaica, and much more in the cinemas and the Café & Bar.

Alongside all of this we have a few dates and commitments that mean that there will be some changes to our opening times and dates in August.

First off - we have our much-postponed staff Christmas Party (2020 and 2021!) to fit in to our busy schedule which will now take place on Mon 1 Aug - and so the building will be closed for the whole of that day and evening. This enables all of our staff to be together to celebrate and have some fun - mulled wine optional.

Then at the end of the month (Mon 29 Aug - Thu 1 Sept) we will be closing the building to enable the whole organisation some time to focus on rest and wellbeing and to also allow some noisy construction work on the new toilets to take place.

Lunchtime Talks in the Pervasive Media Studio (which happen on Fridays at 13:00 in the building and live on YouTube) are also taking their usual summer break throughout August - they will return on Fri 2 Sept and we’ll publish the full month’s programme later in August.

The building will re-open on Fri 2 Sept and we will be publishing some September programme highlights over the next few weeks.
