Some Spring Changes at Watershed
Posted on Fri 18 March 2022
Monday opening, the return of Cinébabies, and 100% Cinema Capacity
Here at Watershed as we move towards Easter we have a spring in our step. The sun is shining, it’s getting warmer, and those hot cross buns and chocolate eggs in the supermarket sure look tempting. Spring is the season of new life and for planting the seeds of possibility.
So it seems like a great time to have a think about how we move forward. Throughout the past couple of years we have been moving with care and consideration to rebuild and recover, and now is the right time to begin to reintroduce parts of our offer that we had to put on pause as a result of the Pandemic.
We are pleased to announce that from April we will once again be opening our Café & Bar and Cinemas on Mondays from 17:00, Cinébabies, our weekly baby-friendly cinema screenings, will be making a welcome return and we will be screening some family friendly films over the Easter holidays.
Introducing Nacho Mondays
From Mon 4 April we will open in the evenings, from 17:00, for films, food and drinks every Monday.
Nacho Mondays means that our regular Café & Bar menu will be replaced with a menu which celebrates that iconic Watershed favourite - nachos. So choose your nachos (vegan option available) from £4.50, and our special drinks menu will offer choices such as local beers, Patron tequila, and Mexican lime and soda.
Please join us for our first Monday opening on Mon 4 April for a perfect evening of film and food.
Films coming up in April include Ingmar Bergman's Cries and Whispers, Robert Eggers' The Northman, the joyous Casablanca Beats and more.
Welcome back Cinébabies
Cinébabies gives parents and carers the chance to see the latest cinema releases with their babies (under 12 months). The sound volume is lower and the lights are up a little, and we provide a safe buggy park and nappy changing facilities.
If a film has Descriptive Subtitles, we will always make sure the Cinébabies screening has them.
Cinébabies will be every Tuesday at 11:00 – the first one (The Northman) will be on Tue 19 April.
We are currently confirming the April programme – please check back on the Cinébabies page soon to find out what’s in the cinemas.
Easter Family Films
With the Easter holidays fast approaching we've got a couple of great titles programmed in as matinees - Coppelia, which combines enchanting animation and live action ballet, will be magic for younger children whilst captivating anime fairytale Belle is just the ticket for older and younger children alike.
Changes to cinema capacities and seating
We wanted to let you know that from Fri 15 April our cinemas will be operating at 100% capacity, with unallocated seating (this is a change from our current level of maximum 75% capacity and with allocated seating).
We will continue to programme regular 25% capacity Socially Distanced and Relaxed Screenings (which are also at a maximum of 25% capacity) - to see these screenings use the filter on our calendar page.
