Restored & Rediscovered
Cinema Rediscovered 2022
Please note : this season finished in July 2022
Experience some of the latest restorations and rediscoveries on the big screen. This year’s festival opens with a 4K restoration of David Lynch’s deliriously enigmatic and hypnotic Lost Highway (1997) and closes with Kinuyo Tanaka’s intensely moving Forever A Woman (1955), also a UK first and 4K restoration.
South West Silents present the UK Premiere of Fritz Lang’s Dr. Mabuse (1922) and Hirschfeld’s legendary documentary Laws of Love / Gesetze der Liebe (1927).
There are also special events around restorations of more contemporary classics, such as Nina Menkes’ Queen of Diamonds (1991) and Wendell B.’s Chameleon Street (1989) that both started their journey at Sundance.
