One Night in Tokyo: Behind the Scenes – BFI Film Academy Bristol 2014

Following a screening of Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation, Watershed's BFI Film Academy participants donned pink wigs and turned the café bar into Noughties Tokyo, with karaoke, a photo-booth, face-painting, glow in the dark cocktails, projected fireworks and laid-back music, then invited everyone to the party!

This short film documents the inspiration, planning, publicity, and participants, who are part of Watershed's BFI Film Academy programme. The Academy brings together 16-19 year old film and film-making enthusiasts and provides opportunities, mentoring and real-world experience of devising and producing events such as this one.

Thanks to their efforts, One Night In Tokyo quickly sold out and had to be moved into Watershed's largest screen.
