Season curator Dr Adam Laity says:

“This film is a look at the catastrophic impact industrial farming has had on the quality of soil in the UK and does a great job at explaining not only how important good soil health is for future food production but just what the regenerative farming movement can do to diversify what we eat at the same time as tackling the agricultural impact on climate.”

This inspiring documentary tells the untold story of the UK’s regenerative and agroecology (sustainable farming that works for nature) movement and its benefits to soil.

We follow a trio of young farmers who stand up against the industrial food system and transform the way they produce food – to heal the soil, our health, and provide for local communities. On their journeys, they are joined by experts providing wisdom and solutions from a growing movement of people who are dedicated to changing the trajectory for food, farming, and the planet.

An important film which explores how we can positively affect the way we live now, Six Inches of Soil offers hope and realistic alternatives to the mainstream system, whilst reminding us of the vital importance of what’s beneath our feet, where the real super-heroes are worms and dung beetles.
