Afrika Eye, the South West’s biggest celebration of African cinema and culture, returns with an exciting programme of new and classic films, street art, spoken word, dance, music, food and photography at venues across Bristol.

We're excited to be welcoming the festival back with two screenings that demonstrate the breadth and talents of African and diaspora filmmakers, and of course the much-loved Afrika Eye party in the Café & Bar.

Artists from across Africa and within the diaspora bring insights, creative ideas and extraordinary projects to broaden and enrich our knowledge of a continent that has for centuries been part of a shared history, without ever having an equal voice.

Afrika Eye has found a new format for 2024. Instead of a full-on festival, they are presenting a series of films throughout the autumn. Working with partners at Watershed, The Pickle Factory and Trinity Centre and into 2025 at The Cube, we have documentaries, feature films, animation and archive screenings, all demonstrating the breadth and talents of African and diaspora filmmakers.
