James began his career as a trainee Accountant before running away to work in the theatre, first as a Front of House Assistant at Theatre Royal Bath and then working his way up to Assistant General Manager at Bristol Old Vic. From 2001 to 2012 he was a Business Manager and then Regional Director for Arts & Business.

His passion for film began with all night screenings of Marx Brothers and Bob Hope and Bing Crosby ‘Road’ films at The Brillig Arts Centre in Bath. He can occasionally be found on the terraces of Bristol Rugby shouting as loud as he can, for Bristol of course.
