Watershed's monthly film discussion event for Deaf and hearing audience members moves online for the first time. Please join us at 8pm for a post-screening discussion of Da 5 Bloods (streaming on Netflix now) where we will come together to share thoughts and questions.
From Academy Award® Winner Spike Lee this is the story of four African-American Vets — Paul (Delroy Lindo), Otis (Clarke Peters), Eddie (Norm Lewis), and Melvin (Isiah Whitlock, Jr.) — who return to Vietnam. Searching for the remains of their fallen Squad Leader (Chadwick Boseman) and the promise of buried treasure, our heroes, joined by Paul's concerned son (Jonathan Majors), battle forces of Man and Nature — while confronted by the lasting ravages of the immorality of the Vietnam war.
Hosted by Deaf artist, performer and filmmaker David Ellington with special guest Roger Griffith, author and broadcaster, this event will feature BSL interpretation throughout. All welcome - the conversation will be open to Deaf and hearing audiences!
Da 5 Bloods is available on Netflix now (the film has Audio Description and Subtitles) so make sure you watch the film in advance and then tune in on Mon 22 June at 20:00 for the discussion - we can't wait to see you all.
