Winner of the UNESCO Prize at Venice (for the film that best represents the values of peace and human rights), this is a charming Indian drama about an old man, convinced he is about to die, who ropes his son into accompanying him to the holy city of Varanasi.
Daya (Lalit Behl) believes that the end is near, so tells his family that he wishes to die in Varanasi, on the banks of the Ganges. He drags along his reluctant son Rajiv (Adil Hussain) and they check into the Hotel Salvation, where people come to die. But once there, Daya gets his lust for life back, making new friends with the other residents and reconnecting with both his son and the world around them. A lovely story of great wit and tenderness - enjoy.
