A rare chance to see the entirety of Fassbinder's five-part, nearly eight-hour long 1973 television series about a working class German family, now stunningly restored.

Commissioned by West German television channel WDR to make a working-class family drama, Fassbinder conceived of Eight Hours Don't Make a Day, a mini-series about the Krüger family, their lovers, in-laws, friends and co-workers. In particular it follows toolmaker Jochen (Gottfriend John), his new girlfriend and his fellow workers, with whom he bands together to improve conditions on the factory floor.

Hardly screened since its initial broadcast, this is a special opportunity to see one of Fassbinder's earliest and most tender experiments with melodrama. Enjoy.
